Sunshine and Tomatoes.

Posted on June 19th, 2020 by Justina Soltys

Dear Spoon Full Farm Family,

The summer heat has finally arrived, and the plants, chickens, and we are loving the warm sun. The greenhouse tomatoes are ripening, the basil plants are thriving and our edible flowers (nasturtiums and calendula) are starting to bloom! We are so excited to get edible flowers in your salad mixes soon! Things are truly in full swing on the farm.

Calves are still being born (we've got 8 calves so far) and our chickens are laying, laying, laying! Tomorrow marks the longest day of the year, which means we'll be soaking up the sun for as long we can tomorrow and use that extra daylight to get ahead of our weeds (unfortunately, even our weeds are loving the warm temperatures!)

Also, I'd like to thank you all for your patience with me for the start of the CSA. This is my first time administrating this big of a CSA, so I truly appreciate your kind words and your patience with me. I'm so excited to get to know you, our beloved CSA members! As always, please contact me with any questions you have via email justina@spoonfullfarm.com and I will get back to you as soon as I can!

Happy summer and happy eating!

Wishing you good health,

Justina and the rest of the Spoon Full Farmers
