Farm Happenings for May 17, 2022

Posted on May 13th, 2022 by Kimberly Decker

Welcome to summer!!!

I know we're actually over a month away from the official beginning of summer, but it sure feels like we've already arrived!  The plants are really responding to all the heat this week, mostly positively (although the spinach is calling it quits... ). Tomato, cucumber, eggplant, peppers, are all really growing like crazy this week, as are the weeds.  We've got a nice selection of produce on offer for Tuesday, with some great supplements as well; asparagus from the Amish Auction, head lettuce from The Salad Farm in Bolivar, Mushrooms from MO Mushrooms, and salad mix from Box Turtle Farm.  Altogether, it's a great share, with lots of options.

Remember, unless you purchased the workshare buyout, we ask that you contribute 12 hours per season to the farm.  Please click this link for more details, and to sign up to help;  https://signup.com/go/bxqceOu

If you are an every-other week shareholder, and this is you first share of the season, be sure to log in and set preferences so your share will be customized.  Here's a link to a video explaining how to do that; https://www.loom.com/share/e47c0400c75b4fb092082560e88d3dec

We still have space, so if you know anyone who is interested in joining for the season, reach out to them.  We have a refer a friend program, which gives you both a credit toward extras if someone you referred joins the program.  Here are the details; https://harvie.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/360044975613

Meanwhile, enjoy those asparagus and strawberries while we have them, before they yield to tomatoes and cucumbers.

As always, it's a joy to be your farmers, thanks for trusting us to feed your family.
