Happy August! We are happy to arrived at the 8th month of the year. Days are shortening, and we're enjoying beautiful sunsets when we do our evening walk to close up the laying hens at night. It is almost peak summer. We are getting into the swing of bulk harvests - carrots and beets this week. Next week, we'll be harvesting our garlic, with storage onion harvest not long after that. It sure does feel like July! It seems like we're spending 75% of our time harvesting. Strawberries are done - what a quick season! Last night's storm brought the farm 2 inches of rain, which means today's harvest was a bit muddy.
