Well, it sure does feel like summer. The heat is on, and the thunderstorms have been rolling across the sky. Last night's storm brought the farm 2 inches of rain, which means today's harvest was a bit muddy. Hello, Meadowlark members! Welcome to the summer CSA season. Our late spring crops have been loving the stretch of cooler weather, but the summer crops are happy to feel the heat. This first week's offerings include crops from the hoop house (chard/beet greens, mini head lettuce, carrots, salad turnips),... read more »

Spring Share: Week 4

It's the final week of our spring share. We hope that you have enjoyed the bounty of this slow, cool spring. It has been a beautiful spring for spinach! This week, we have both our salad spinach and full leaf spinach available. These are 2 different varieties. Either can be eaten raw or cooked, but we... read more »

Spring Share: Week 3

Each week of harvest brings something new. Purple kohlrabi! And salad turnips! If you are new to the CSA, you are in for a treat. Salad turnips (also called hakurei turnips) are a delicate, Japanese variety of turnips. Similar to radishes - but without the heat, they are crisp, creamy, and nutty in flavor.... read more »
