This Week's Highlights: The first seed catalogs have arrived! Rainy days have been welcomed - with our long to-do list of office work. The budget and marketing plan for 2022 are in the works, and the crop plan will be up next.
What We're Cooking: Thanksgiving is on our minds! We've already made a batch of our favorite cranberry sauce. We'll be bringing Thanksgiving slaw, apple pie with this butter crust, and roasted beets to our family gathering.
From Our Farm Partners: We are excited to be offering organic cranberries from SunDance Cranberries in Necedah. They are available is pints and 3-pound bulk bags.
Red and blue potatoes are available from Driftless Organics - as well as a limited amount of sweet potatoes from Orange Cat Community Farm in Reedsburg.
The certified organic apples from Two Onion Farm for our apple share members are Enterprise. Good for fresh eating and excellent for cooking or baking, Enterprise apples are moderately sweet with a slightly spicy flavor. (Their skin can be thick and tough.) We have Goldrush apples available for sale. They are dense and crisp - with a tart flavor that is sweetening in storage. Perfect for apple pie!
Veggie Forecast: The next fall share delivery will be Wednesday, December 8th. New items available will include shallots, red cabbage, gilfeather turnips, and daikon radishes.
