Cooking, calving, caring, touring.

Dear Spoon Full Farm Family,

Week 2! If we could, we would cook every item of produce we grow, for you and your family. But we don't have time, and you're probably a better cook than most of us, anyway (except for Geoff - he's a wizard). What we can do is offer some homegrown recipes, and some guidance that we've found helpful, here: https://www.spoonfullfarm.com/how-to-cook-a-csa

On that page, you'll find a produce recipe called "How to Cook those Stemmy Veggies" which helps you to expertly prepare the garlic scapes and broccoli rabe that we packed into CSA boxes this week.

As the days begin to shorten, again, the vegetables continue their race with the weeds. Currently, in most of our fields, the good girls are winning. The delicious abundance is more glorious by the day, and demands more and more care. The hectic free-for-all of Springtime activity cycles into the repetitive rigor of Summer.

Calves continue to drop to the grass, welcomed to Earth by (mostly) loving mother cows (we have had some rodeo adventures, which we'll share on our instagram). Hay is being cut. Care is being exercised: with every weed we chop and green bunch we pack, we feel the unique mix of love and fatigue that comes with the farm season. We hope you can taste it.

(PS - if you're free on Monday July 8th, join us and Tilth Alliance at the farm for an in-depth guided farm tour: https://www.brownpapertickets.com/event/4243441)

With love,

Spoon Full Farmers
