Farm Happenings for December 31, 2021

Posted on December 28th, 2021 by Curtis Millsap

Good evening! We hope that everyone is enjoying their winter festivities! This weeks farm happenings are written by apprentices Nick and Karissa. Just as the leaves have fallen from the trees and we are recycling this organic matter into our growing beds, we are using the lessons we have experienced this year to spread amongst our minds and better ourselves as we continue to grow in future years. We and the Millsap family are using these quiet winter days to reflect upon a beautiful year while also rejuvenating and planning for our next season. We even had the opportunity to take the crew for an overnight warm winter float trip after Christmas. But, all the while we continue our winter growing and are very excited to announce that, in addition to our other winter vegetables, we will have a carrot crop that just came in that will be available all winter. So, if you are interested, we are offering the first of our weekly farm pickup and delivery this week of a lá carte shares! Shares will be harvest Thursday and Friday to be picked up or delivered Friday-Sunday. It has a been a true to pleasure to have an opportunity to work and learn with the land as well as with you all this past year. You are a very important part of are farm.

Wishing you a happy 2022,

Karissa, Nick, the Millsaps, and the rest of the farm crew :)
