Farm Happenings for August 17, 2021

Posted on August 13th, 2021 by Kimberly Decker

Hi! We have had a lot of transition on the farm recently.  There's the transition of veggies - shifting our thinking from summer to fall and winter.  There's the transition in weather (it's going to get cooler right?) and there's the transition of personnel.  Becca Thompson- who you might know from CSA pickups on farm - has worked with us for about 3 years.  She and Alex have moved back to California to be closer to family and get help with her new baby.  She was an expert seed starter and cooler arranger among other things! We will miss her help.

Also, another long term farm hand, Ella Haak, moved on at end of last month and started working in an assisted living facility.  Ella did it all - from harvesting perfect bundles of parsley, to flower arranging, to delivery driver, Ella was a great help on the farm.

We are also loosing a few of our seasonal summer workers who are going to college this year (Bye Becca & Keaton!).  But, as frequently happens, we have some new help on the farm as well.  Kyle, his wife Marissa and their little daughter have just starting living on farm and Kyle works full time with us.  We also have a Woofer, Peter, for the month of August.  So say Hi to the new folks when you see them around!

Thanks for choosing us to be your farmers!
