Late winter
Even though it's still winter, the Silver Maple in our yard is showing signs of spring. The sight of the growing buds always makes me smile and wonder -- it's still so cold, how is the Tree able to do that??

Barn Owl Box
Winter project. Oskar and our friend Tom built a barn owl box. Yes, it even has a front porch. So the owlets can get out to stretch and strengthen their wings, without knocking each other to the ground, which would probably be fatal. Sunny, snowy and cold!
I hope the sun is shining where you are today!
Even though the windy is bitingly cold, in sheltered spots the strength of the sun was noticeable today; warming my skin, despite the cold.

I missed the prognostication yesterday, but apparently Willie predicted an early spring. I'm not sure that I'm ready for that.
