Winter project.
Oskar and our friend Tom built a barn owl box. Yes, it even has a front porch. So the owlets can get out to stretch and strengthen their wings, without knocking each other to the ground, which would probably be fatal. It's a big box.
Thorsten put it up with help from Brad and Mike. It was definitely a 3 person job. And involved a very long ladder, rope, some second thoughts and an appreciation for the depth of the snow underneath the tree. Maybe next time, Thorsten will get out his climbing gear.
Let's see who moves in!
More bird houses to come this winter. The next round involves bluebird boxes -- smaller and a bit more manageable!
