Week 5 -- Harvest, Plant, Weed, repeat
Well, we right in the swing of July!
Our days our focused on harvesting, washing and packing your CSA shares. In between that, we are planting autumn crops (more cabbage, broccoli, cauliflower, beets, leek, frisee + carrots, radicchio, fennel and more!) and weeding!

Week 4 -- Rainy days
Every season is a new adventure!
While the last few seasons were very dry, this year is a stark contrast to that. We've had plentiful rain! It's a bit of a readjustment, remembering how to grow with lots of water in spring and early summer. One challenge has been the slugs -- they are everywhere. A1 read more »
Week 3 -- Summer!
Frieda and I found this chrysalis in the greenhouse this morning. We are growing native plants, including swamp milkweed. A couple of weeks ago, we saw a monarch caterpillar on the milkweed plants. Week 2 -- Cooler days!
Well that was hot last week and I'm relieved that it's cooler now! Fortunately, we were able to adapt pretty well by starting earlier and spending the hotter parts of the day in the shade, starting seeds and doing other prep work. I think summer heat may be our biggest safety challenge!
