Week 15 -- Autumn has arrived gloriously

Tuesday was the first day of autumn and the week has been lovely -- sunshine and warmth. After the frost on the weekend finished off the tomatoes, we have been able to spend this beautiful weather taking down the tomatoes. Week 14 -- Cool but sunny

The silver maple by our house is tinged with red. And this last week of summer is sunny, but cool. There was a slight touch of frost in some of the winter squash on Monday night, but otherwise I think we came away unscathed. Week 13 -- Cool and wet!

It's a cool and wet start to the week. This isn't ideal weather for ripening the last of the tomatoes. They do enjoy warmer temperatures and more sunshine. We did a whirlwind through the garden on Monday and Tuesday -- uncovering fall crops, weeding, removing the cucumbers, and doing the last bit of seeding!
