Welcome September!
What a weekend to end the summer -- hope you had a chance to enjoy the summery weather.
The tomatoes sure did! Early September might be the best time of year for local, seasonal eating. The bounty of summer is still in full swing and the first of the autumn crops are starting. We've got quite the line up this week -- including lots of tomatoes, the first fall broccoli, cucumbers and even a few ears of corn from Oskar. His sweet corn project is doing well and the first cobs of "peaches and cream" are ready. This is an heirloom variety, less sweet than many modern types, but packed with flavour.
Hope you have a great week!
