Heavy Harvest Time

We're harvesting every day now, bringing in big bins of winter squash, carrots, beets, radishes, and turnips. Later this week we'll start sweet potatoes. We wash and store everything carefully so we can continue to eat good good food through the cold months of November, December, and January.  read more »

Shoulder Season

It's a beautiful, fleeting moment while we still have abundant tomatoes, sweet peppers, and watermelons, but the winter squash and root vegetables are starting to come in strong too. Still summer, not yet fall, so lovely.  read more »

Cover crops

When we finish harvesting vegetables from a bed, we plant cover crops of oats and peas, rye and vetch, or clover. This holds nutrients in place and builds organic matter in the soil for future healthy crops.  read more »
