Week 9 -- Last big round of planting this week

Posted on August 14th, 2023 by Kristine Hammel

The tomatoes are taking their time, but coming along in nice quantities. The long term forecast is calling for warmth and sunshine, so it's looking great for lots of late summer tomato salads!

This week is the last big push of planting and season. On our planting list we have: bok choi, kohlrabi, beet, leek, frisee, lettuce, green onions and on the seeding list: turnip, spinach, cilantro, dill, radish and arugula! After this, we just have the last round of lettuce and bok choi to plant and some more spinach, radish and arugula to seed. Whew! I'm looking forward to weeks with slightly less stringent to do lists!

And we are off to Summerfolk this coming weekend. After all the planting and seeding, it will be a sweet reward to spend a weekend enjoying music, visiting with friends and resting!

Hope you have a great week.
