Sunshine...FINALLY! Our farmers have lots of veggies started, but their growth has somewhat stalled out because of all the clouds and rain lately. Things should get moving now with warmer weather and lots of sunshine in the forecast.
Summer CSA sign-ups are in full swing. Our Local Line store will work a little differently from Harvie. You will have an empty cart each week to start with, and you can fill your cart with items up to your weekly budget (depending on which share size you chose). If you go over your budget, your card on file will be charged for the overage. We have two new pickup locations this year. Mercer will be hosted by Down to Earth Wealth Management on the Diamond near the Court House. This location offers later pickup for those who couldn't make it to Munnell Run Farm by 4 pm. Franklin pickup is moving to Oil City at Core Goods.
This Week's Features
- Shiitake mushrooms...only 8 bags, so get 'em quick! Full Moon Mushrooms is taking the week off, so the shiitakes are a premium this week.
- Asparagus from Mickley Organic Farm. Only 5 lb. available to start with to be conservative. If it shoots up a lot on Saturday, we'll add more on Sunday morning, so check back that day.
- Wildcrafted products this week include Ramps, Cattail Shoots (tastes similar to asparagus), Fiddlehead Ferns, and Nettles.
- Butter and Egg Noodles from Detweiler Farm
Farm News
Spur Hollow Farm: We avoided the snow this week, which makes for a very happy vegetable farmer in May. What a beautiful place to be able to grow food! We love our community and the people we serve with our business!
