Posted on November 3rd, 2022 by Amy Philson

We are in the final two weeks of our season!  Can you believe it?  For those of you with biweekly shares, that means that this is your final week.  Have you signed up for Winter CSA yet?

Thank you for supporting our small family farms this season.  We strive to bring you the best farm products that we can while growing organically.

Reminder that if you need to reschedule any skipped shares for these final two weeks, please contact me.  Because we have Winter sign-ups going and we switched payment plans to pay-as-you-go, you can't reschedule.

This week's features

We have lots to tell you about this week!

  • Turkeys!  Pastured turkeys available from Moose Farm, the same farmers who bring you beef and chicken in your CSA shares.  The turkeys are moved to fresh grass daily and fed non-GMO grain.  They are currently at the processor and will come to you frozen.  Most will be 20-25 lb. but if you want a larger or smaller bird please contact me.  When you add the turkey to your order, you will be charged $50.  I will then adjust your total after we get the weights from the processor.  Cost is $5.50/lb.
  • Sweet potatoes from Mickley Farm
  • Radicchio and Shallots from Glacial Till Farm
  • Kohlrabi, Hakurei Turnips, and Scallions from Spur Hollow Farm
  • Nut butters from Georgia Grinders are back in stock, including NEW limited edition Chocolate Bourbon Pecan Butter
  • Spices from Burlap & Barrel are restocked, plus seven new herbs and spices
  • The Way Nature Intended has new gift baskets for the holidays.  Think teacher gifts, gift exchanges, and more.  Check them out.
  • Hummus flavors: Black Bean, Original, Dill Pickle, Chipotle
  • Mushroom jerky

Farm News

Glacial Till Farm:  Early morning preparations for garlic planting are underway. Garlic is the final crop we plant, the season just goes by so quickly.

Spur Hollow Farm:  Check out this gorgeous bed of lettuce.  We have tons of salad greens, salad turnips, kohlrabi, kale, spinach, and more!

Enjoy the weather this week!  Your farmers appreciate the warm days in the fall to get more work accomplished before winter weather.
