Farm Happenings for November 19, 2019

Posted on November 18th, 2019 by Pam Dysinger

Hello CSA Family!

This has been one eventful week here on the farm. When Joshua and I came down to the farm to work on Wednesday, we were surprised with twin girls born to one of my dairy goats! Only a few hours later, another doe went into labor, and another healthy baby girl was born. Then to add to the crazy day, a third baby girl was born after sunset. The last two births were difficult ones, and they required my assistance. Although it can be stressful, I love being able to play the part of "goat midwife."

Now lets jump to Friday... Three more does gave birth, and that added FIVE more babies to the family! An additional two were born Saturday morning, so that brings our final baby count to 11! The farm is now teeming with bouncing, floppy eared babies! You will get to meet two sweet bottle babies at your Tuesday pick-up!

If you'd like to see more pictures and keep up with the dairy goats and their babies, follow us on Instagram @bountifulblessingsfarm and @the.freckled.herd

Our Great Pyrenees dog is also pregnant and due for puppies any day! If anyone is interested in a puppy, let us know!! They will look just like baby polar bears, and they have the most gentle temperament!!

Also, this will be your last pick-up before Thanksgiving,  so you will have the option of having Sweet Potatoes and Butternut squash in your boxes!!

Hope everyone had a great weekend, and has a wonderful week, and a very Happy THANKSGIVING!!
