Happy New Year!

Posted on January 2nd, 2021 by Dave Redfearn

Happy 2021!  I bet after 3 weeks of holiday snacks you're ready for some fresh greens!

I don't know about you but Sheri and I may have put on a bit of extra winter insulation as we enjoy Christmas cookies and board games by the fire.  For everything there is a season, right?

Boy have we got some good stuff this week!  I'd like to draw your attention to some particularly amazing radishes this week!  They've got some beautiful greens that would make amazing radish top soup with really big crunchy radishes attached to them:).  Salad mix is awesome and plentiful.  And the bok choy is fantastic as always!  We've got Pearl Farm new potatoes, wheat berries from City Farmer Foods, and more of Mr. Hemme's amazing cheese!

Farm chores have slowed down as the days grew short and everything is snowy, so we've been enjoying extra family time, crop planning, seed ordering, homeschooling, and Dave's been putting in some part-time engineering hours at his old job.  After putting in a ton of work in 2020, it's nice to take things a little easy for a while!  But not for long!  We're already seeding for transplants that will carry us through the 2021 summer season!

Speaking of the 2021 season, did you know you can refer a friend and get $$$ to use to purchase extras anytime in the CSA?  Go here to learn how: https://www.harvie.farm/member/refer-a-friend  We're almost 90% full for next season, but we'd love to make room for your best buddies so you can swap ideas and share the experience!

Bread Shares this week:

Sliced Loaf: 8-Grain

Artisan Loaf: Sourdough

We're in the stretch where we'll have CSA pickups every other week in January and February, so we've got a pickup this week, none the next, and pickup again the following week.

We hope you have a blessed 2021!  Thanks for making us part of your year!

Your farmers,

Dave and Sheri
