Farm Happenings for December 10, 2020

Posted on December 5th, 2020 by Dave Redfearn

Farm cleanup is underway!  We're taking advantage of the warm dry weather to knock off some long overdue projects.  Hopefully, you'll see the place spruce up a bit as we do some early spring cleaning around the farm (spring cleaning never happens for us because we're super-busy planting in spring).  It's nice to get some larger projects tackled.  Hopefully you are taking advantage of extra time at your homestead to knock out the projects as well.  It feels good to be productive, doesn't it?

We've got a pickup this week and then another one the following week before we take TWO WEEKS OFF for Christmas and New Years.  Just keep that in the back of your mind as you make your meal plans.

Some of the greens look especially fantastic this week!  Including the Komatuna.  If you haven't tried it, it's excellent in any stir fry.  Similar to bok choy but more leaf and less stem.  This was an asian green we added last winter that we really like.  It grows well in the cold and tastes great!

Thinking local healthy Christmas gifts?  We've got NUTS again this week from Prothe's Pecans!  And our farm Honey!

For Bread shares:

Artisan Loaf: Sourdough

Sliced Loaf: Grains Galore

We'll see you this week and the next before we take our holiday hiatus.

Thanks so much,

Dave and Sheri
