Your Pre-Thanksgiving Share

Posted on November 14th, 2020 by Dave Redfearn

HAPPY THANKSGIVING!

Be forewarned, this will be the final CSA share before we take the week off for Thanksgiving.  No CSA pickups on Nov 26th or 27th.  So if you want to stock up for a Thanksgiving feast, this is the week to do it!  We've got some special deals on huge sweet potatoes that work great for sweet potato casserole.  We've also got lots of large-leaf spinach for creamed spinach and lots of salad mix to add to the Thanksgiving dinner.  The extras are well-stocked so you are free to make lots of additions to your share to feed the family and tide you over for two weeks.

After taking the Thanksgiving week off we'll be back to weekly share pickups starting December 3rd.  We hope you have a safe, healthy Thanksgiving celebration.  We'll be thanking God for you; for your support and for the chance to get to know you.  We've been blessed with good health and steady business at a time when so many cannot say the same.  We're grateful for the amazing opportunity to grow great food for a living and cherish the memories of extra time together as a family in 2020.  What will you be thankful for in 2020?

We all might have to dig a little deeper this year to find something to be thankful for, but I think its really healthy to develop an attitude of gratitude.  Here's an interesting article on some of the amazing benefits of being grateful.  Thankfulness...Let's do this!

Bread Shares this week:

Artisan Loaf: Rosemary Olive Oil

Sliced Loaf: Grains

Greenhouse Update:

The new greenhouse, Number 6 at the farm, is very close to complete.  Externally, it's all finished.  Now we're working on the inside finishing touches; running electrical, heater and ventilation installation,  irrigation, and laying out the planting beds.  If all goes well, we'll have it transplanted and seeded by the end of the week for more amazing greens and roots in January.  These greenhouse builds are challenging projects and we're ready for a rest. Just need to push through to the end and get it planted.  Then we can seed and water and let God make it grow.

Have a happy Thanksgiving!
