Fall Share: Week 3

Posted on November 12th, 2019 by Lauren and Craig Kreutzer

It's the middle of November, but this weather has us feeling like we're in deep winter. Despite the frigid temps, our hoophouse greens are hanging on! Spinach and salad mix are available in this week's share. The spinach is flavorfull and full leaf - great for salads or for cooking.

We've moved our washing facility into the greenhouse. Our packing shed is not yet an insulated, four season space, so we are thankful to have an empty greenhouse where we can enjoy the sun and turn on the heat.

It's hard to believe that Thanksgiving is right around the corner. This CSA share is full of inspiration for your Thanksgiving meal. We'll be bringing the mashed potatoes and sweet potato casserole to our family's Thanksgiving dinner.

Some other thanksgiving favorite sides:
Thanksgiving slaw with dried cranberries, pecans, and apples - This recipe calls for bagged coleslaw mix - which is just shredded cabbage and carrots! You'll need about 7 cups.
Glazed shallots
Glazed beets or carrots
Classic potato gratin

We sent out an end of season survey to all of our members earlier in the week. (If you haven't filled out the survey yet, CLICK HERE!) We've already received over 40 responses. The feedback is helpful in understanding what is important to our members. It helps us better serve you. Thank you!!

Have a blessed Thanksgiving!

Your Farmers,
Craig & Lauren
