Fall Share: Week 2

Posted on November 1st, 2019 by Lauren and Craig Kreutzer

Happy November!

As I write this, we're nearing the end of our first week off of CSA deliveries in 25 weeks. We enjoy the rhythm of the CSA season - with Wednesday delivery days anchoring our schedule. It sure has been nice to have a break, though! We've dug into some serious house work (new siding and windows!) and are enjoying some extra hot coffee on these cold days.

We're wrapping up field work, with planting and mulching the garlic being our last outside field tasks. Our hoophouse is full of greens. Hoophouse maintenance is simple - covering the plants with row cover in the evening to keep them warm overnight and uncovering them on sunny days so that the plants receive the sunlight that they need.

Our work has already shifted to planning for the 2020 CSA season. We start our planning with the budget, and then we'll move to crop planning and marketing.

Stay warm, and happy cooking!

Your Farmers,
Craig & Lauren
