Welcome to our Spring Farm Share Season!

Posted on March 23rd, 2023 by Conrad Cable

Kaden and I have been working hard since early January preparing for the season. This is going to be our most bountiful farm share season ever! We have more diversified crops than any other past season, let me tell you about some of them!

New crops we are growing this Spring include fennel, sugar snap peas, chicory, new varieties of bok choy, sugar baby watermelons, sweet corn, as well as new cultivars of radishes and carrots. This is our earliest Spring start since we started farming in 2020!

During April, you can expect lots of leafy greens, our full line of salad mixes, and favorites like bok choy, scallions, radishes, salad turnips, and carrots.

By May, we will begin harvesting potatoes, broccoli, cauliflower, and large Napa cabbages. We should also be neck deep in sugar snap peas, greens beans, cucumbers, and our first rounds of early squash.

Come June, you can expect to have local fruit like blueberries and peaches, in addition to, our full line up of vegetables mentioned above. If the rains are good we will be looking for chanterelle mushrooms!

In July, we will be harvesting plums and apples, as well as, harvesting summer favorites like tomatoes, okra, peppers, and eggplant in addition to all of our leafy greens, salads, root crops and other seasonal favorites. July will most likely be the most diverse month for vegetables and fruit.

Don't forget that every week we offer pasture-raised chicken eggs from 3 Board Farm, plus any duck, goose and chicken eggs from our small flocks in Marion.

Thank you so much for choosing our farm to grow food for you and your family. Our farm shares are the number one way to support our farm, and we will always go the extra mile to make sure you feel part of a community centered around good food!
