Tomatoes and Peppers Galore!

Posted on July 30th, 2022 by Dave Redfearn

As I (Sheri) write this, Dave is preparing the ground for lots of fall crops: broccolini, napa cabbage, kohlrabi, diakon radishes and watermelon radishes! Even with the bountiful harvest, we are always thinking to the weeks and months ahead. Radishes, cilantro, dill, salad greens are planted nearly every week; green onions, carrots, beets and beans are planted about every 2 weeks also. And surprisingly August is a huge month for planting as we plan a great finale to the fall. Dave is our normal writer, so this will be very short!

Tomatoes and peppers are abundant right now! Consider how you can preserve the harvest in the coming weeks. Tomatoes are about at their peak right now and peppers will be increasing up till the first frost. Jalapenos have a small break right now, but the other peppers are compensating. Salad greens and kale continue to be dependable and the radishes are juicy, albeit spicy!
