Welcome Micah! Our new farm worker. Refer a friend and help us grow!

As we have been trying to improve our farm production and diversity of offerings this year we have invested a lot in infrastructure. Irrigation, a new walk-in-cooler, two new tunnels for winter production (they are due to be delivered tomorrow!), and a great washing station. But the one thing I have felt lacking is labor. Our home and kids needs most of Dorothy's attention in addition to the baking she does for you. So I have been hiring a few different part time helpers this summer. But we really need another member of the team. A few weeks ago a former farm intern and good friend, Micah, started working with us. Last week he made the farm deliveries and it was amazing for me to be able to catch up on work here at the farm instead of being gone all day Friday. Right now we are hoping to be able to afford to have him start working on the farm full time. This should allow me to really fine-tune the production so that we can have more diversity of products on a more consistent basis.

In order to afford to hire Micah we need to increase the number of Farmship members we have. Otherwise we will not be able to keep him employed. If each of you could help find one more member then that would take care of his salary. For every member that you refer we also offer a $25 credit as a way of saying 'thank you!'. Would you be willing to help find one additional member? Ideally in your current neighborhood so we don't add a lot to our delivery route. If you know of anyone interested please put them in touch with me and I will give them a call.

I am sorry that we are in the end of summer season where everyone is ready for fall veggies and are getting tired of squash and okra. But hang in there! We are close to that cool season abundance where we plan to have all your favorite salad mixes, root crops, spinach, broccoli and cauliflower! Thank you for all your support. You make what we do possible.
