Grass Fed Meats?

Posted on October 11th, 2021 by Noah Sanders

We will be making a delivery this Thursday, October 14th. You have until tomorrow, October 15th, at 11:59 PM to edit your order or skip this week. This time of year there is less diversity of vegetables coming in so feel free to skip any weeks you want to keep from getting burned out! You can also go in and edit your order so that you can vary what you get from week to week. For example, stock up on meat one week, get more veggies and eggs the next.

Speaking of meat, all of the meat we offer from our family's farm are 'grass-fed'. Most industrially raised meat today doesn't include any grass in the diet of either cows or chickens, both of which were designed to eat grass. Cows have an incredible stomach system that enables them to support and grown their large bodies on just grass (they do relish the ocassional treat of a small scoop of grain too)! Chickens are omnivores and require a mixed diet. Like us, they benefit from having 'salad' along with their carbs (grain) and proteins (i.e. bugs they forage). And when these animals are fed what they were designed to eat not only are they happy, but they are healthy. And this in turn creates a healthy egg, steak, or chicken wing for you and me! We are grateful to have the job of doing our best to make the animals we raise for you happy each day.
