Summer Share: Week 2

Posted on June 11th, 2021 by Lauren and Craig Kreutzer

Happy Friday! We had a beautiful harvest this morning, including a perfect radish harvest. Due to the heat, they do have some spice. We plan to roast some this weekend. Not interested in turning on the oven? You can also grill them! Either method takes away the spice and leaves you with their mellowed juicy sweetness. Lettuces are plentiful, but this will be the last spinach for a few weeks. The heat hasn't been kind to those tender spring greens! These first carrots are from our hoophouse and were planted in February. (The wait has been worth it - they're delicious.)

A few housekeeping notes for those every other week members receiving your first share this week. - you have until Sunday evening at 8pm to swap, add to, or make any other changes to your share. (You will receive a reminder email at 6pm.)

When you go to pick up your share, locate the box with your name on it. Some orders are unable to fit in one box, so be sure to look for a second (or third) box. (Boxes that are a part of an order with multiple boxes will be labelled 1/2, 2/2, etc.) Take home the plastic box liner bag, unfold the empty cardboard box, and leave the empty box at the pick up location.

Enjoy the produce!
