Fall Share: Week 3

Posted on November 11th, 2020 by Lauren and Craig Kreutzer

This is our second to last scheduled CSA delivery for the 2020 season. Our work has shifted from weeding, planting, and harvesting to planning, catching up on office work, and preparing for the upcoming birth of our third child. Last week, we planted our garlic on the most beautiful, sunny November day.

The hoophouse harvest continues to be bountiful. It looks like we'll have spinach, salad mix, baby kale, and baby fennel from the hoophouse in the last fall share (which will be delivered on November 25th - the day before Thanksgiving). There are also many storage veggies to look forward to - pie pumpkins, celeriac, rutabaga, watermelon radishes, shallots, and more potatoes.

We're offering Hidden Valley Mushrooms in this week's share. We'll be ordering mushrooms for our Thanksgiving dinner and stocking up on some dried mushrooms for the winter months ahead. It has been such a treat to have locally grown, organic mushrooms from the Tylka family. We look forward to offering them again in 2021!

Stay warm, and happy cooking!

Your Farmers,
Craig and Lauren
