Summer Share: Week 2

Posted on June 6th, 2020 by Lauren and Craig Kreutzer

Happy Saturday!

This week's offerings are another mix of crops from the field, our hoophouse, and the greenhouse. The carrots were planted back in the beginning of March in our hoophouse. They are so sweet and flavorful - and no longer "baby" carrots. This week's spinach variety is best cooked. Radishes and salad turnips will both be without their green tops this week. Flea beetle pressure has been extreme this year, and they love the tender leaves of these crops. We're enjoying bountiful salads, and are particularly excited about the adorable mini romaine lettuces in this week's share.

As a reminder - You will have until Monday morning at 5 AM to make any adjustments to your share. Please, check out the location and timing details for your first pick up (you can find this in your member account and in Tuesday's email) and contact us if you have any questions. Take home the plastic bag liner and leave behind the empty, unfolded produce box. If you are receiving egg shares, you can also leave clean, empty egg cartons for us to reuse.

You will find bags of Collin's Coffees available for purchase as an extra. Interested in trying a bag, but not ready to commit to a coffee share? Here is your chance! This week's coffees are Uganda Natural and Sumatra. Bags are whole bean and 12 ounces.

There has been a change to the mushroom schedule - we will be offering mushrooms for purchase from Hidden Valley Mushrooms next week - for the June 17th delivery. Fresh, dried, and pickled mushrooms will be available. (The next opportunity will be the July 8th delivery.)

Enjoy your share!

Your Farmers,
Craig and Lauren
