Spring Share: Week 1

Posted on May 2nd, 2020 by Lauren and Craig Kreutzer

Happy May!

We are getting into the swing of the CSA season and are excited to be harvesting and delivering the first shares of the year.

There have been some slight adjustments from last year at some of the pick up locations. You will find these details in the email we send out on Tuesday under "Your Pick Up Location". You can also find it under "Delivery Details" when you review your share. As always, give us a call or email if you have any questions.

We ask that you wash your hands before and after picking up your share, bring home all of the plastic bags (they are recyclable), and leave the empty, unfolded box behind. Be courteous of others and practice social distancing. Stay healthy, and eat your veggies!

This first harvest of 2020 sure is beautiful. Some of our favorite greens have returned - spinach, salad mix, and our super greens mix! The super greens mix - which include spinach, beet greens, baby chard, and baby kale - is tender and packed full of flavor and nutrition. Mesclun mix is new this year. This mix includes both mild and spicy greens, like red mustard, mizuna, tatsoi, kale, and arugula. All of the greens are wonderful raw in salads, but the super greens mix and spinach can both be cooked, too.

On the farm, the fields are filling with produce for the summer, and we are filling up the greenhouse with more baby plants each week. We are noticing new birds each day, and our landscape is filling up with vibrant green. Hope you have been able to enjoy the beauty of this spring!

Enjoy the first fresh vegetables of the year. We are looking forward to another year full of delicious produce, and we are grateful to be sharing the bounty of the harvest with you.

Craig and Lauren
