It's pumpkin time!! Yesterday we unloaded 2,654 large pumpkins from a 52ft tractor trailer, and as of this evening approximately 2,599 were left.  We've done over a thousand in sales in the first day!  The pumpkins are an annual tradition on the farm.  We partner with the Navajo nati1 read more »

After six long weeks, it finally, finally rained!! Of course it had to happen after I spent three hours lugging water to the fruit trees, but a half inch of rain is worth so much more than my standing over a tree with a hose for five minutes.   This week is the final big push for getting the l1 read more »

Meet Blackjack - the little kitten who showed up on the farm a few weeks ago!  She came with a flea collar, so I assumed she belonged to someone, but outreach on social media and to folks in the community brought in nothing.  I took her down to Lifeline and they found a microchip... but w1 read more »

The peaches from last week have mostly found homes in appreciative stomachs across Atlanta, and the few boxes remaining in my walk in are headed for the pigs and chickens.  I've already fried my first "waterproof" digital irrigation timer trying to keep the fall seeds cool enough to germinate.1 read more »

My housemate has a bit of a problem with regards to keeping usable items out of landfills.  He'll stop to grab things off the side of the road that still have life in them and take cursory looks through dumpsters for items to rescue.  Before I was able to purchase the large white coolers1 read more »
