Spring Season Kick Off!

Posted on April 1st, 2024 by Conrad Cable

Kaden and I are so excited to kick off this Spring farm share season! If this is your first farm share season, then welcome to our farm family! If you are a returning farm share member, thank you so much for your season after season support! We have been working hard these past few weeks to finish planting for the Spring season and we are ready to get back into the harvesting routine! Let me tell you about some of the amazing produce available this week!

What's Fresh This Week?

  • Salad Turnips & Radishes
  • Sugar Snap Peas *We did not grow purple ones this season.
  • Cherry Tomatoes
  • Louisiana Strawberries
  • Microgreens!
  • Oyster Mushrooms!

Limited Harvest

  • Free Range Eggs
  • Fresh Mint
  • Lettuce Mix
  • Mustard Greens

Farm Update:

-Cherry tomatoes are available from south Louisiana, and we can pick them up at the same time as strawberries. So, we will have cherry tomatoes available each week as long as we are going to get strawberries, or until our tomatoes start producing. We have been sourcing them for Local Market on Line, and I can say that these are delicious tomatoes! *Container used is a recycled strawberry container. Tomatoes will be packaged in cardboard, open tubs.

-3 Board Farm is still having some production issues with their new laying hens. We have a few eggs this week, but we are hoping that production will increase in the next few weeks. 3 Board Farm will also have whole chickens and select cuts available by mid-April.

-Our green beans and early squash are just a few weeks away from harvest!

There's some amazing produce growing right now, and I hope that you are as excited as we are about cooking locally grown food! Thank you again for supporting our farm and the local food network that we are building in north Louisiana!
