Wrapping Up Our Winter Season

Posted on March 10th, 2024 by Conrad Cable

Spring is knocking on the door, and the time has come for us to close our Winter Farm Share Season. It's always a great feeling to finally cross the finish line at the end of the cool weather season obstacle course. I feel like this was our best Winter season since we started farming. Not everything went according to our crop plan, but I am really happy with the quality and consistency of nearly all the crops we grew. Could we have had more lettuce and straighter carrots? Absolutely! But even if some veggies didn't look as good as the grocery options, they still captured the incredible flavors of all those frosty nights.

If this was your very first farm share season as a member, then I hope you will keep your auto-renew turned on and join us for more delicious produce in our upcoming Spring/Summer season. If you have been a member for several seasons, then we really look forward to growing more food for you and your family! This was an amazing farm share season for our farm, and I hope that you feel the same way about the farm fresh meals shared around your dinner table.

What's Fresh This Week?

  • Yellow Carrots
  • Pea & Sunflower Shoots
  • Baby Arugula
  • LOUISIANA STRAWBERRIES
  • Oyster Mushrooms!

Limited Harvest

  • Broccoli
  • Lettuce Mix
  • French Breakfast Radishes

Louisiana Strawberries!

We love all of the responses we have gotten from the strawberries! It makes Kaden and I so happy to know that you are excited and enjoying the strawberries. I love that right now they are firm and slightly sour. As the season progresses, they will become softer and sweeter. So we aren't putting up any for making jams just yet, but when April begins (and our Spring farm share season!) the berries will have their peak sweetness and flavor of the season.

Spring Season Update

Current farm share members have "auto renew" turned on, so you will not need to sign up for the Spring season. The grace period will last from March 16th-March 25th and during that time you can make changes to your Spring share if you want to change sizes, frequencies, or pick up locations. After that date, your auto-renew process will be complete, your credit card charged for confirmation, and you will receive our Spring season welcome email.

We have not had a West Monroe pick up option, but now we have 3 new ones for the Spring season! We owe such a big thank you to these small businesses!
