Farm Happenings for November 6, 2019

Posted on October 30th, 2019 by Lorien Carsey

Happy Halloween!

Our employees love to surprise us each year with their inventive farm themed Halloween costumes. This year, we have a farm tool (hoe) and a tomato with yellow shoulders due to a ripening disorder. We had good laughs this morning.

The final CSA pick up has arrived! We are spending our days preparing for the freeze that is coming. We harvested the rest of our peppers in the field and are grabbing the last of the  broccoli before the snow comes. We also have to finishing blowing out pipes and picking up irrigation that might freeze. It's cold and rainy which makes things a bit more difficult but we are lucky to have an employee who brings in their camping stove and makes hot cider and hot chocolate! What a treat!

We have enjoyed each and every one of our CSA customers and hope you will join us again next year for our CSA. We are looking forward to many of the same offerings as this year but there may be a few tweaks. I think everyone is on auto-renew for next year but you can opt out for the renewal by logging in to your account and clicking on the My Profile drop down. We will be sending out a survey to get feedback from each of you. We would appreciate you filling it out so we  can make our CSA the best it can be for all of you!

Thanks to all of your for another great CSA season!
