Farm Happenings for October 30, 2019

Posted on October 24th, 2019 by Lorien Carsey

The end of the season creeps near. We just finished our final potato dig this week and are now preparing to harvest around 20,000# of carrots. This is a multiple day/week feat that takes many staff members. However, next week we are offering carrots that we are hand digging from the edges as the harvest mechanism doesn't reach the edges. We are also keeping an eye on the weather as there is much to do before the first hard freeze. Blowing out the irrigation lines, draining filters, saving the last of the peppers and harvesting the remaining root crops.

We just have two more weeks of the CSA left! David from Bane Family Meats wanted me to relay the message you can still sign up for meat shares through him. He home delivers in the winter time! If you are interested in signing up or still getting your meat shares, please contact David at davidpbane@aol.com
