Farm Happenings for July 29, 2020: Bucket Season

Posted on July 24th, 2020 by Lorien Carsey

Here is Sam, one of our hard-working crew, showing off our good old green Menards buckets that we use for eggplant, summer squash, cucumbers, and peppers. He is standing in front of our brush washer, which we use for eggplant, peppers, and potatoes.

Speaking of potatoes, we are going to start digging them next week. We've got a mixed bed of Carola, Purple Majesty, and Laratte Fingerling that we will get into. They are not going to be big this year thanks to the weather, but they will be tasty.

We are tapping our toes waiting for the sweet red and yellow peppers to ripen, and I think we are looking at two weeks from now. Come on guys!

A word about how to get in touch with us. If we messed up on your order, in not giving you something, or if you have a complaint or comment about what we put in your box, or if you need to reschedule and Harvie won't let you, don't bother contacting Harvie, they are just going to bounce it to us after a day or two of sitting in their inbox. You can email us directly at bluemoonfarmurbana@gmail.com. If you have any questions about how to customize, swap, make payments, etc, then use the contact form for Harvie and they'll get back to you. After a few months, we realize it's more efficient this way.

We hope you are enjoying the food and we thank you for supporting local farms!
