Farm Happenings for July 22, 2020: It's Already Mid-July?

Posted on July 17th, 2020 by Lorien Carsey

Alex wields mighty cucumbers.

We got so much done this week. Seeded carrots, harvested all our garlic and onions for the year, planted 14 beds of fall brassicas, mulched the final planting of tomatoes, missed a tornado and a hailstorm, and started mowing off spring fields of cabbage and broccoli. Good-bye brassicas, we'll see you again in the fall.

Some of our April-planted red peppers are starting to ripen, so look for those soon. This is the last week for scallions until our fall plantings get big. Look for poblano and shishito peppers soon.

We will start pulling up potatoes next week, so in two weeks we'll have Carola potatoes!

Stay cool in the weekend's heat wave, it's going to come back to the 80's by Tuesday.

In case you missed it, we are still donating veggies, so please keep buying those donation boxes.

Thank you!
