Farm Happenings for June 17, 2020

Posted on June 11th, 2020 by Lorien Carsey

Another lovely week passes on the farm. We planted our winter squash, some summer squash and are cultivating our hearts out while it is dry. The storm brought cooler weather which means relief from the excess heat and humidity of wearing our masks for 10 hours a day.

We have added a 3rd person to the Champaign pick up location which has reduced wait times from 20-30 mins down to around 5 mins. We appreciated that most everyone used the north entrance for the Champaign site. The one way traffic flow makes it safer for all of us. Thank you.

We are taking a break from spinach as it needs a couple weeks to grow. We have lots of chard, kale, collards, basil and green onions this week and keeping our eye on our greenhouse tomatoes. So far, they are looking good and we harvest our first tomato. Hopefully we will have tomatoes in the next week or two.

We hope everyone is healthy and happy and has a great weekend!
