Week 8

Posted on June 19th, 2020 by Ford Waterstrat

Wow! this past week has been beautiful. Here's a shot from our back porch looking out over the home farm.  Cooler temps make growing your vegetables much more pleasant. However- the cooler weather does slow down the development of several of our "heat loving" crops like tomatoes, peppers, eggplant, corn, and other summer favorites. But- it's perfect for lettuce broccoli, cabbage, and the other greens. I've never grown produce in the "Salad Bowl" of California- but I hear its much more predictable and easier to grow produce there because the weather is much more predictable. But- who wants to eat produce that's over a week old :) We hired a neighbor with big tractors to help us get more land ready for 2021- Here's a quick shot of him plowing more ground for us.

We want to thank all of our customers for always making sure that they grab their specific bag. As you might imagine it's a real bummer for our customers and for us when someone grabs someone else's bag. The customer calls us and says---hey- my bag was not there.

And a big shout out to all of the wonderful businesses and homes that host as a pickup location. Let's make sure we support them.
