Week 6

Now were talking! This is some gorgeous weather- Good farming weather! Here's a picture of the guys and I headed out to harvest cucumbers- and check out this video of the team in action harvesting cukes.

Some folks ask us- whats better too much rain or too little rain? Most vegetables grow best in moderate drier conditions. You know how basements are notorious for dingy mold? All that moisture in the basement provides the perfect breeding ground for yuck! Fruits and vegetables are very susceptible to fungus, molds and yuck when its too wet. During extreme droughts we have to get creative to find enough water to irrigate with. But for now its perfect.

We apologize that our lettuce sizes have been all over the place this season. That extreme freeze we had back in May killed some of our sequential plantings of lettuce. We plant lettuce every 2-3 weeks.

Thank you for the kind emails that your sending, the great recipes, foods, cooking ideas that you're sharing on the private Facebook page, and for the prayers.

And please know- we want you to be 100% satisfied- please contact me if you are not.

Sincerely,

Ford
