Early June is when it's all happening on the farm. Plants are growing quickly now, but the weeds are catching up too! On our list for this coming week: plant winter squash, field tomatoes, ginger, and lettuce, set up irrigation on the squash and carrots, prune tomatoes, weed carrots, lettuce and herbs, harvest and pack CSA shares. It's a whirlwind of activity around here and we're constantly on the move to keep up with it all.
We have a bumper crop of gorgeous lettuce mix, and the cucumbers and asparagus are both coming in strong now, so load up your boxes with these goodies while they're plentiful. It's a great time of year to make a big salad with dinner every night!
