We say goodbye to the intensity and heat of August and we welcome the cool abundance of September. There are a wide variety of vegetables in their prime at this moment. We're harvesting every day of the week now to keep up with the bounty in our fields and store crops away for the colder months. Tomatoes, cucumbers, and basil are still going strong (thankfully, no signs of downy mildew yet). Green beans, head lettuce, kale, swiss chard, and cabbage are all enjoying this cooler weather. And for the Powerkraut fans out there, check out our newest variety- Lemon Rosemary Kraut- it's extra special delicious, and available exclusively to our CSA Members. Let us know what you think.

Root 5 Farm is a certified organic vegetable farm located on 38 acres in Fairlee, Vermont, along the Connecticut River. The fertile river bottom soils provide a rich environment for growing over 100 different varieties of vegetables and herbs.
