It feels like we're moving at warp speed. After 2" of snow on May 10th, one week later we're suddenly in summer mode.This was a critical week for planting and we're grateful for the sunny days and warm nights. But it's been quite dry so we've been irrigating daily to establish all of our new crops in the field. This week we planted our second round of tomatoes, cucumbers, all of our hot peppers, more basil, kale, lettuce, arugula, radishes, carrots, beets, and turnips. And asparagus is finally popping up like crazy now. This specialty crop is only around for a few weeks in May-June, so we hope you enjoy it while it lasts!

Root 5 Farm is a certified organic vegetable farm located on 38 acres in Fairlee, Vermont, along the Connecticut River. The fertile river bottom soils provide a rich environment for growing over 100 different varieties of vegetables and herbs.
