Farewell Jeff: Thank You for 11 Seasons!

Posted on August 10th, 2020 by Robyn Calvey

It's been 11 seasons since Jeff reached out asking about working here at Park Ridge Organics as an intern.  His family had a vegetable farm, but UW River Falls internship rules frowned on working at your home farm.  I suspect he didn't know then that his time at Park Ridge would last well beyond the intern season.

For 11 seasons Jeff has worked to improve the farm and help get it to where it is today.  Our soils are top notch thanks to his dedication and knowledge.  The soil's health is directly reflected in our produce flavor and quality and a reason that our members and customers keep returning season after season. From planting to cultivation, irrigation to input management, Jeff has worn the hat of the Field Production Manager for many years and worn it very well.  He also wore a few other hats.  Many of you know Jeff from our Appleton Farmers Market stand where he has been the friendly face of the farm for the past few seasons.  Jeff was also our resident punny veggie joke teller and cookie bar maker.  He can make a mean jalapeno popper dip to boot.  He has always been 100% committed to making this farm better and we can't thank him enough for everything he has done.

Jeff is moving to the central part of Wisconsin to pursue more important things in life...like love!  We couldn't be happier for him and we wish him the best.  So raise your glass (carrots juice or what have you!) and join me in a CHEERS to Jeff!  May your future bring you happiness, health and better fishing spots!
