Summer Share: Week 20

Posted on October 12th, 2019 by Lauren and Craig Kreutzer

We've reached the final week of our summer CSA season. Thank you for being a member of Meadowlark Community Farm! It's been a honor to feed you and your families.

We may have had our first below freezing temperatures last night, but we will be harvesting beautiful head lettuces from the hoophouse for this week's shares. The hoophouse, and the row cover laying on the lettuce beds, provide a few degrees of protection for frost sensitive crops. Other crops, like spinach and brussels sprouts, taste better thanks to these cold temperatures. Most crops, however, are safely harvested, cleaned, and stored in our cooler. They are ready and waiting to head home to our members' kitchens.

This may be the final summer share, but our fall/winter share begins next week. If you would like to continue enjoying fresh, local produce, we still have a few fall/winter shares available. Hoophouse grown greens, microgreens, and storage vegetables (like onions, garlic, potatoes, sweet potatoes, carrots, winter squash, etc.) will fill these boxes. Shares will be delivered on October 23rd, November 6th, November 20th, and December 4th. Our standard, the Nourish Share, will be $170 (or $42.50 per delivery). The new, Savor Share, costs $112 (or $28 per delivery). Sign up is available HERE!

We're also excited to announce our Farm Stand! Don't want to commit to purchasing a full share, but still want to enjoy Meadowlark produce? You can now subscribe to our Farm Stand feature where you can purchase a share one week at a time when we have extra produce available. To subscribe, click here

Again, THANK YOU for being a part of another beautiful CSA season. You'll be hearing from us throughout the fall. We plan to open up sign ups for the 2020 season on January 1st.

Your Farmers,
Craig & Lauren
