Farm Happenings for June 16, 2022

Posted on June 12th, 2022 by Emily Tzeng

Welcome to Week 3 of CSA Season!

More new veggies are making their debut each week, despite the cold and rainy days and we are starting garlic harvest this week! This means garlic harvest and cleaning parties are back! If you would like to come visit and help, we will be harvesting and cleaning garlic this Saturday (June 18) in the afternoon. Please let me know if you are interested in coming! Farm tour, sheep snuggles, and light refreshments provided.

Veggies this week:

Sprouting Cauliflower is back! This is like the cauliflower equivalent of broccolini. Tender stems that you can eat and easy to cut apart into small stalks and roast.

Fennel! This seems to be a devisive vegetable? We love it in our house, especially thinly sliced with a lemon (or preserved lemon) dressing and shaved parmesan cheese.

Fresh Garlic bulbs- these are fresh and not cured, so store them in the fridge and eat within a few weeks.

Green Shallots- mild and sweet, like the shallot equivalent of scallions (we call them shallions.) Makes for extra tasty green curry!
