Farm Happenings for December 8, 2022: The Penultimate Share

Posted on December 5th, 2022 by Emily Tzeng

Welcome to Week 7 of the Fall CSA Season! Just a reminder that next week is the last share of the year!

It's been a cold and snowy week, topping off a year that has been rather challenging year, weather wise. The snow is beautiful, but does result in needing to do some snow removal from all of our various tunnels. This snow has been quite wet and heavy, so it's important to sweep the snow off in a timely manner to prevent the structures from collapsing. Hopefully all of the snow will melt in time for harvest on Wednesday!

Veg this week:

Its definitely root veggie season, so we have made up roasting mix of many roots! 5 pound bags of carrots, beets, radishes, turnips, parsnips, and potatoes, all mixed up and ready to roast, either by themselves or under a whole chicken or other type of meat.
