Farm Happenings for September 2, 2021

Posted on August 30th, 2021 by Emily Tzeng

Welcome to week 15! As we cruise through to the cooler, less smoky days of fall, we welcome back some veggies and will start saying good bye to others.

This week we are getting the last cultivations done in the fall and winter sections, transplanting veg that we will be harvesting November-March(!), doing health checks on lambs, and getting some cover crop (my favorite crop) in the ground. We also have pulled in sooo many onions and shallots this past week and everything is curing nicely in the greenhouse to get ready for storage.

The days of tomatoes, squash, cucumbers, eggplants, green beans, etc. are definitely limited, especially now that we are having night time temps in the 50's, so eat up!
