Romanesco is coming in well and it is beautiful! My kids always call it Christmas trees when we cook it, as they eat it up better than most winter veggies. Weird weather patterns have made some things slow down and others seem to do better with it, but that's Louisiana weather for you. We have a go1 read more »

The cold weather has set in and it looks like it may stick around for a while. The forecast for the farm this week doesn't get out of the 50's for the high! Well we had some frost damage from last weeks early cold weather, it knocked our summer squash and cucs out completely, and also burned our pumpkins, and winter squash. Cherry tomatoes that are 8' tall actually faired well, the heirloom tomatoes have some damage but they may make a come back. We sh1 read more »

I can not believe this cold of weather has showed up so early! We usually don't see mid 30's temps until at least November. Either way we all knew it was coming eventually. The picture is a Rainbow I saw one morning that popped up over our strawberry plants. Still haven't gotten much rain, but the1 read more »

Satsuma's have started and even though they are still green on the outside, boy are they sweet! I always love when citrus season starts, and how about the wonderful weather we have been getting. It has been a bit dry and very dusty but the temperature and low humidity have been awesome. We are supp1 read more »
